BOPA
A Body of Persons Approval (BOPA) has been issued for this event by Lancashire County Council.  Under BOPA conditions, the priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of all event participants, with particular attention to children up to school-leaving age. This should be considered a team effort between
• Event Organisers
• Event Staff
• Licensed Chaperones
• Dance School Teachers/Leaders
• Parents/Guardians/Responsible Adults

It would be much appreciated if all attendees could take note of the following information….

FILMING & PHOTOGRAPHY

Please note the following guidelines for filming & photography at our events.

For the solo and pairs categories, attendees are permitted to film or photograph their own child. Should this be a problem for any individual, please speak to your dance teacher who can request that we ask people not to film/photograph that particular section.

We suggest that attendees take care if sharing images via social media and to review privacy settings on social media channels.

For the team category, the dance teacher may nominate one representative to film the team routine from the front. No other filming is allowed except for still photographs, this then gives the dance teacher the option of how and where the recording is shared both to protect their choreography and for child protection reasons. Anyone in breach of this rule may be asked to leave the competition venue.

By consenting to entry there is an acceptance that the event organiser might take photographs and short films for use on the Acro Dance UK website, social media account and other promotional material. Should this be a problem for any individual, please speak to your dance teacher who can request that these images are not taken or shared.

PARTICIPANT SIGN IN/SIGN OUT PROCEDURE
On arrival and departure, event participants are asked to inform their teacher/group lead so that they can record attendance times at the event.

PARTICIPANT SUPERVISION
Under BOPA conditions, it is a requirement that all participants up to school-leaving age are supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Participants of this age will not be permitted to pass our door/security team without a responsible adult accompanying them.

FIRST AID
Should anyone require medical assistance at any time during their visit, the event staff are all first aid trained and will be based on the stage in the Ballroom.

CHANGING ROOMS
Male/female changing rooms will be available. For safeguarding reasons, participants up to school-leaving age must be accompanied by a responsible adult into the changing area. It is strictly prohibited to take photos/videos in this area. Changing is not permitted in public areas unless the participant is wearing a base layer i.e. leotard, sports crop top/shorts etc.

CLOTHING/FOOTWEAR
It is a condition of entry that participants wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Competitors dancing barefoot please bring something to move around the building (sliders etc)

SOCIAL MEDIA
From time to time, our social media team may take photographs or short videos of the competitions for use on Pulse online platforms. Our team will avoid any ‘close up’ photos/videos of individual dancers, with the focus being on the full event space/larger groups of participants. If anyone does have any concerns/objections to this, please speak to your dance school lead who will communicate this with our events team.

EMERGENCY EVACUATION PROCEDURE
On arrival, please familiarise yourself with the emergency exits in the venue.
If the fire alarm does sound, then attendees should proceed to their nearest emergency exit.
The assembly point for Accrington Town Hall is to the side of the building near to Poundland.

If you are a responsible adult accompanying an event participant, if safe to do so, please try to locate your dance school lead person at the assembly point to let them know that you have safely evacuated the building.

REPORTING SAFEGUARDING CONCERNS
The Designated Safeguarding Lead for AcroDance UK is Emily Binyon.
Emily will be in attendance for the duration of the event and will be based on the stage. Alternatively, you can email emily@sandersondance.co.uk

HAVE A QUESTION

We respectfully ask that dancers/parents direct all enquiries about the event to their dance teacher/school representative. Please do not contact us directly.
